i. Substantive is a temporary, vacant and funded post within the school establishment. This post is eligible for Conversion to permanent post after 3 months.
ii. Substitute is a temporary post only applicable for a certain duration. This means that if appointed, you will be filling in for a permanent educator who is on leave due to illness or maternity. This appointment is not eligible for conversion to permanent post.
iii. Growth posts is an emergency temporary post created due to unforeseen increase number in learner numbers. This appointment is not eligible for conversion to permanent post as it is only created for a specific duration to accommodate the fluctuating learner numbers.
iv. Against Promotional Post is a temporary post used by the school for educator/teaching purposes whilst a promotional post (HOD, Deputy Principal/Principal) is vacant at the school. This appointment is not eligible for conversion to permanent post , it will be abolished once the promotional vacancy is filled.
v. IALL is an African languages post created for primary schools to promote the teaching of African languages. If appointed on this post you will be required to teach on a rotational basis at 3-4 schools within the same area. This post is temporary and is not eligible for conversion to a permanent post.
